Mark G. Stein, M.D. is the president of Santa Ana Tustin Radiology Group (SATRG), a 12-member sub-specialized team of radiologists that provides professional services for West Coast Radiology Centers (WCRC). Since his appointment as WCRC medical director in 1995 WCRC has grown to become one of the largest and most preferred outpatient imaging providers in Orange County. Dr. Stein’s subspecialties include body imaging, musculoskeletal MRI, thoracic radiology and ultrasound.
Dr. Stein graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa with an MBBCh, the equivalent to a medical degree in the United States. Dr. Stein furthered his medical training with an internship at the Johannesburg General Hospital and stints at the University of Witwatersrand as an assistant lecturer and senior house officer in cardiology.
After moving to the United States Dr. Stein completed a residency in radiology from Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he fulfilled a term as the chief resident. Dr. Stein stayed at Cedars Sinai and received advanced training in CT and ultrasound as a radiology fellow. Dr. Stein moved on to the University of California, San Francisco where he was a radiology fellow and clinical instructor in thoracic imaging.
In addition to his clinical background Dr. Stein has continued his interest in academia, serving as an assistant clinical professor of radiology at the University of Irvine since 1987. Dr. Stein has been an active member of the Orange County medical community and served a term as the president of the Orange County Radiological Society from 1998-1999.
